Cats And Their Pets (Us)

A Cornell study confirms what we've always known: cats manage their owners through different vocalizations. Compared to native African cats (which always sounded "angry" to researchers, domesticated cats were found to have pleasant-sounding" calls. My favorite quote from the article: "Cats are domesticated animals that have learned what levers to push, what sounds to make to manage our emotions," Nicastro says. "And when we respond, we too are domesticated animals."

And since we're talking about cats, turn up your speakers and catch this hep cat band (warning: sickly sweet).
