Amy Hempel is a master of the short story, and this collection brings together her four books of short fiction. Hempel is amazingly consistent in her prose, her words are never wasted and the stories are all worthwhile. If you've ever enjoyed one of Amy Hempel's short stories, this collection is an excellent and affordable way to explore the output of one of America's greatest authors.
My next book is The Ethical Gourmet, by Jay Weinstein.
