The Man Who Loves You

Rollling Stone accidentally gets some credibility and interviews Jeff Tweedy:

"It's never been one of my dreams to win a Grammy," says Jeff Tweedy, whose band Wilco got zero Grammy nominations for Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, perhaps the most acclaimed album of 2002. "I don't think the Grammys have anything to do with artistic merit."

He's right, though. The Grammys have Z E R O to do with artistic merit. Any performer who goes in with the goal of winning a Grammy probably will do so, because the course from nobody to Grammy-winner is well established. Looking at history will tell you what to and what not to do. Yankee Hotel Foxtrot didn't follow the rules, just like every great non-Grammy-winning album before it.
