Shopping Trip (Canceled)

I hate to admit it, but no new cd releases will tempt me out into stormy weather this afternoon. This is a blessing in disguise, not only will I stay dry, but I'll also have more cash to spend on next weeks releases, including the new Deerhoof, Destroyer, Franz Ferdinand, Mary Lou Lord, TV On The Radio and Von Bondies.

These releases this week are interesting, I'll be looking for them deeply discounted and used:

The Beatles with Tony Sheridan (dvd)
Get Up Kids, Guilt Show (cd)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951) (dvd)
The Grifters (Collector's Series) (1991) (dvd)
Tron (20th Anniversary Collector's Edition) (1982) (dvd)
Low b-sides collection (cd)
Sunset Boulevard (Special Collector's Edition) (1950) (dvd)

Surely there's more than one decent cd being released this week... any suggestions?

Aaargh, when I first saw "The Grifters" I thought someone had finally released a collection of their singles. Damn!

Zero 7's new c.d. is out today. I really liked "Simple Things". I know, they're kind of like "Air"-lite, but its' decent music to relax to.

nah, there's nothing this week, and next week isn't all that hot either, just the Rainer Maria DVD/CD and season 3 of Futurama if that's your thing.

Brubeck's "For All Time" box with all the 'Time' albums is out this week, as is the Grant Lee Buffalo best tracks & rarities collection. A nice 2-disc "Essential Cheap Trick" hit shelves and so did the debut from Just Jack, an interesting-sounding electronic artist. Still, I gotta admit that it's a slow week for sure.
