YLT Benefit On WFMU

Tonight is Yo La Tengo's annual benefit performance for WFMU, from 6-8 pm EDT. The band plays requested covers, and if you pledge enough cash, you can even sing lead over the phone!

To jumpstart Tuesday Tunes (on a Saturday), I can't think of a better event to promote. I've made two YLT covers from last year's performance available: Nick Lowe's "What's So Funny 'Bout Peace Love and Understanding," (mp3 link) and the Bonzo Dog Band's "I Want To Be With You" (mp3 link).

Just curious as to whether you or anyone who peruses this place happens to have a recording of last night's show? The "We Didn't Start The Fire" medley at the end was incredible, and the entire show rates among the best they've done for WFMU. Tremendously enjoyable.

So yeah, is there someone out there who figured out how to record the stream, or someone in Jerseyland with a tape deck attached to their radio, and is already several steps on their way to becoming a hero to millions, who wants to finish the journey?

I should have a copy in a day or two, a couple of friends captured the stream for me. I hated to miss the show, but my mother-in-law was visiting us and we went out to dinner.
