Not one of tomorrow's cd releases interests me enough to hit the local indie record shop at lunch tomorrow. I would pick up the Vic Chesnutt reissues if I didn't already own the originals,and I've never been a big Beasties fan. Surely I'm missing something? By the way, The Thrills and Gomez appear on The Simple Life 2 Soundtrack.
The dvd releases are a different story. I'll probably order the first and second season of Curb Your Enthusiasm along with the first three seasons of the Simpsons.

Posted by: Matt on June 14, 2004 10:03 AMI was surprised to see that you didn't pick up the Battles EP that came out on Monitor last week. They came through LA a few months ago and I was sincerely blown away, so much so that I went to see them twice in the same weekend.
They sound much better live--John Stainer's drumming is almost completely lost in the recording--but you can still hear how amazing and innovative they are. I highly recommend "Hi/Lo"; it's a great, great song, and the EP is still worth the price of admission despite the poor production.
