Tomorrow's Empty Shopping Bag

Not one of tomorrow's cd releases interests me enough to hit the local indie record shop at lunch tomorrow. I would pick up the Vic Chesnutt reissues if I didn't already own the originals, and I've never been a big Beasties fan. Surely I'm missing something? By the way, The Thrills and Gomez appear on The Simple Life 2 Soundtrack.

The dvd releases are a different story. I'll probably order the first and second season of Curb Your Enthusiasm along with the first three seasons of the Simpsons.

Beastie Boys: To The 5 Boroughs [cd]
Lori Carson: Finest Thing [cd]
Killers: Hot Fuss [cd]
Vic Chesnutt: Is the Actor Happy [cd]
Vic Chesnutt: Little [cd]
Various Artists: The Simple Life 2 Soundtrack [cd]
Chris Stamey: Travels in the South [cd]
Vic Chesnutt: West of Rome [cd]
Simple Kid: 1 [cd]

50 First Dates (Widescreen Edition) [dvd]
Cheap Trick - From Tokyo to You [dvd]
Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete First & Second Seasons [dvd]
Curb Your Enthusiasm - The Complete Second Season [dvd]
David Bowie: Origins of a Starman [dvd]
Futurama - Volumes 1-3 [dvd]
Johnny Cash - A Concert Behind Prison Walls [dvd]
The Simpsons - The Complete Seasons 1-3 [dvd]
The Simpsons - The Complete Fourth Season [dvd]
The Stepford Wives [dvd]

The new Phish album "Undermind" comes out tomorrow. That's about the only semi-notable release I didn't see on your list...

Any idea if they are going to re-release Vic Chesnutt's "Drunk"? I'm thinking of getting "Is the Actor Happy?", but I'd much rather get my mits on a copy of "Drunk". Good stuff, that is...

[check's Vic's website]

Ah, they are re-releasing "Drunk". Why isn't it on Amazon? Hmmm...

I was surprised to see that you didn't pick up the Battles EP that came out on Monitor last week. They came through LA a few months ago and I was sincerely blown away, so much so that I went to see them twice in the same weekend.

They sound much better live--John Stainer's drumming is almost completely lost in the recording--but you can still hear how amazing and innovative they are. I highly recommend "Hi/Lo"; it's a great, great song, and the EP is still worth the price of admission despite the poor production.

Relieved to see that the Stepford Wives wasn't anything related to the new film, which no one should ever have to see.
