I read about the Metallica movie in Time - I'd love to see it.

My 22 year-old daughter is a Metallica fan - funny to see the younger generation going for these groups we knew.

The new Ken Stringfellow album, Soft Commands, comes out tomorrow. It might be understated to a slight fault, but some of the songs are just amazing.

Merge's anniversary comp "Old Enough to Know Better" comes out tomorrow, along with Minus the Bear's new EP, "They Make Beer Commercials Like This," on Arena Rock.

Too bad I don't get paid until Wednesday. *sigh*

Dread Zeppelin is the ORIGINAL play-their-own-instruments-mash-up band; they definitely deserve the love.

I'm really excited about the Firey Furnaces disc, too. Gallowsbird Bark really threw me for a loop - it was so fresh and original. Have you seen any live mp3's of the band, I'm curious to hear how they sound in a live context.

Tim - I saw the Fiery Furnaces in Brooklyn back in March and they were great. I hadn't heard any of their music before that show and I loved it. Definitely getting the new one.

The Ken Stringfellow too...
