Note: I posted this a couple of weeks ago, then pulled it. Having since read this Wired News article and still having a case of iPod lust (and a cassette Walkman budget at the moment), am willing to spread the word.
Has anyone signed up for the free iPods? Has anyone received theirs? Here's the skinny: sign up for one of the many trial offers through the site, then refer five friends who sign up for trial offers. Once you have completed your requirements (and it is noted on the site), you can then cancel your free trial.
Here's the link to sign up. Once my requirements are fulfilled, I'll be glad to serve up the referral links of those who sign up under me and complete their required offers. At the moment I'm two referrals away from ordering the iPod... I will keep you posted in the comments section.
The same company is also running a free flat screen monitor or television promotion.
2004-08-20 Update: I just ordered the iPod, and the order is processing. One note: I couldn't complete my order in Firefox, so had to recert to IE to place the order.
An addendum: The company running the promotions for free iPods has also added a Free Desktop PC promotion!

i've been approved for two weeks; but my shipment has been in limbo since then. today, the status moved to "sent to vendor, waiting on product." so, hopefully soon.
now, i'm trying for the free flat screen. five referrals was hard enough; but this one requires eight. (promo link)
Lee, I signed up under you for the free flat screen monitors, good luck!
i'm also at 'sent to vendor, waiting on product' - look around www.gearlive.com/forums in the freestuff forum for pics of people's iPods
some blogger person got one, but I can't remember who it was. hmm. good luck!
Consider yourself one step closer to that ipod- I love your site, figured helping you get a free ipod is a great way to repay you for all of the great MP3s you've shared with me.
I signed up last night and completed an offer, so if all goes well it'll register that in a few days and you'll have another person...
Let me know if you need a referral. If you could give me on that'd be awesome.
So, what offers are you guys doing? I just signed up for the RealRhapsody offer (why not?) and freeiPods.com still hasn't registered it yet. Anyone else try that one? Is it slow, or does it just plainly not work?
So, uh, incase anyone wants to be nice to me...

(Really, I mean those <3's!)
Real Rhapsody took a couple hours to register completed for me.
The deals take a few days to show up as completed. I originally did the ebay one and bid on something I knew I'd lose eventually (2 tickets to see Wilco in Milwaukee + a copy of "A Ghost is Born" signed by the band). I think my bid was like 1.50 or something. Anyway, you can't do the ebay anymore but the Real Rhapsody thing is cheap and easy. Not a bad way to go.
I'm giving it a shot with the pet rx., I've actually been needing to order more flea med for the cats anyway so we'll see if it works I'll give you a ref!
How many people has this actually worked out for? I don't like the way they phrase it "eligible to win a free iPod." Anyone know any verified success stories?
I am two people away from getting the ipod - the website does not say "eligible to win a free ipod" it says "Participate in any one (1) of the offers below to be eligible to receive your free iPod!" Receive being the operative word. I am going to see how this pans out for LHB - this thing looks legit with the Wired article.
Ugh, just thought I'd let people know, if you use this, you get a SHITLOAD of spam. In the past month I haven't got a single spam. Today alone I've got six.
Are you done with your 5? Did you get way more than 5? Keep us posted.. Would love to hear the process of your free ipod.
