Calling "Free Bird" Fans

From the Morning Call (Allentown, Pennsylvania):

Calling 'Free Bird' Fans

Do you ever find yourself humming Lynyrd Skynyrd's famous Southern-fried anthem?

Do you yell for ''Free Bird'' at concerts?

Have you been embarrassed by people who yelled ''Free Bird'' at inappropriate times?

Does 'Free Bird' have a special meaning to you?

In anticipation of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Allentown Fair concert Aug. 31, we're collecting ''Free Bird'' stories. We'd like to hear yours.

Please send to Jodi Duckett, The Morning Call, P.O. Box 1260, Allentown, PA 18105. Or e-mail or fax Jodi at 610-820-6693.

hey dave, if you can get ahold of ryan adams's show in sf on 2-18-01, he gives a pretty funny anology of the whole free bird thingy.

I'm from A-town and travel back to the Great Allentown Fair every year as it's the best fair/barn show ever, so clearly I'll be seeing Skynard. I was all excited to write into The Call when my mom called to tell me about it last week, but there's no prize which is seriously weak, much like that newspaper.

I have to say, if it weren't for the mad guitar solo at the end, "Free Bird" would be the best song to sing along to...ever.
