So do I, Mike, especially when she's paired with a strong collaborator. I'm anxiously awaiting her new album, with M. Ward producing and co-writing many of the songs.

Beth Orton is my absolute favorite. I can't wait for the new album either! I heard a smattering of her new songs at an intimate little performance she gave in NYC right before Bonneroo and they were really, really good. (And yes, I'm completely biased.) She had some new players with her that night (including M. Ward) so it'll be interesting to see who ends up playing on the album.

As always, I love what you're featuring on here! Keep up the great work. P.S. I'm so pleased that you liked Adem.

I think Kieren Hebden is producing her new album actually. He's done an AMAZING job on the new James Yorkston album, no electronic trickery, just incredible intense intimate sounds, really getting the character of each instrument, so I hold out high hopes for his work with Beth O.
