Actually, Regurgitator [the aussie band mentioned above] isn't really a hip hop act. They're kind of genre-hoppers, a la Ween. They considered themselves more punk when they first came out, but kind of moved around after that -- anything from Chili-Peppers-style-white-boy-funk, to their 80s-electro album 'unit' which still had its neo-punk moments. One of their best songs, a send up of Prince, is: *[the song formerly known as]. It's done in Purple Rain-era prince vocals, but is all about staying at home with your girlfriend b/c you are not cool and hate going to the disco/rave/party. Also good is 'Polyester Girl' which is all about girls who get plastic surgery done [etc] and it was hilarious to see these women dancing to the song in the clubs. The irony was lost on them, obviously. The David Blaine sendup fits in with their oeuvre.
