Tomorrow's Shopping Bag

Tomorrow brings three releases by artists I adore, so I'll be picking up Folker by Paul Westerberg, Julie Doiron's Goodnight Nobody and Matthew Sweet's Living Things. The new Black Keys, Chuck Prophet and Six Organs of Admittance are also pretty high on my list, but I'm hoping to find them in a used or cutout bin in the next couple of weeks, with the rest of my list. David, this is completely off topic from this post, but I couldn't help asking: your blogroll is huge, are there any other good music blogs you read? I don't care too much for MP3 blogs, only music ones.

Jens Lekman's "When I Said I Wanted to Be Your Dog" comes out tomorrow, David, and I'd consider it beyond essential listening.

Sweet! I didn't know Ferrell was getting a 2nd volume SNL dvd.

Thanks, Troy, I've had a promo of the Lekman disc for s couple of weeks and it totally slipped under the radar.

I'm hoping that now will finally be the time that all of M.S.'s early-90s fans will finally wake up and notice that he never stopped making great music (in fact, imho, he keeps getting better. case in point: kimi ga suki). He seems to be like a ghost, in this country anyway.

Kimi Ga Suki was so good I bought the Japanese import. Matthew Sweet even at his worst is pretty good to me.

Goddammit. I went to two stores in SF and both said their copies of Living Things mysteriously failed to show up on the docks. Did you get yours?

I couldn't find a copy of the Mattew sweet album at the local superstore or the little indie shop, so I ordered it from Amazon.
