Tomorrow's Shopping Bag

As fall progresses, more and more albums are released each week that catch my eye. After picking up my wife's birthday present tomorrow (I have my priorities), I'll be heading to the store to buy lots of music. I'll definitely purchase the re-release of Camera Obscura's Biggest Bluest Hi-Fi, The Dears' No Cities Left, The Hidden Cameras' Mississauga Goddam, Moving Units' Dangerous Dream, Richard Buckner's Dents & Shells, and Matador at Fifteen. Let's hope some of these are on sale. Anything I'm missing this week? What's everyone's impression of the new Pinback? I'll be looking for the rest of the list in the used and bargain bins in the coming months.

On the DVD front, the live Wire and Calexico discs are intriguing, I'll pick these up, too, if the price is right.

The new American Music Club is excellent. You must add it to your list.

The new Pinback is my favorite record of the year by far.

...um, I thought they pulled that Strokes disc from the label's releases months ago...

Thanks, tankboy, I forgot that the Strokes disc was pulled.

Be sure to pick up the Calexico dvd! I bought the dvd three months ago in The Netherlands and it's a piece of art! Truly. The concert itself is amazing, it starts with the regular Calexico setting but after about an hour they invite the Mariachi people on stage which makes it even more great. But for me the greatest feature about this dvd are the documentaries. Very personal and very well done. So both musically and technically I can easily rate this dvd a 9!

I am so looking forward to the I Heart Huckabees soundtrack. I adore everything Jon Brion has done for movies.
