Massage Boosts Natural Killer Cells
According to a Houston news report, new research from the Touch Therapy Institute suggest that massage help boost the immune system.
"Preliminary findings on the breast cancer study suggest that the women receiving massage therapy are less depressed, less anxious and their immune system is getting stronger. Very encouraging," Dr. Hernandez-Reif says.
Equally encouraging is what massage can do for HIV patients. A study found a daily dose of massages for one month boosted the number of natural killer cells among HIV-positive men.
Benefits are also seen in those who suffer with HIV, diabetes and asthma.
