Blind Massage Therapists
In the former Soviet Union, the blind are being trained as massage therapists. This serves to supplement their income and give their life some purpose which helps combat depression.
"The main current problems of all blind people is unemployment and a miserly pension," Kalyk said. The government helps blind and deaf people by providing them with subsidized utility services and transport.
