Coping With Stress

Australia's News.com.au interviewed 12 people with different lifestyles to find out how they coped with stress. Interestingly, many ways people cope is through talking things out, doing regular exercise, eating right, and getting enough sleep. Of course, massage plays an important role as well.

David Wood, 35, life coach, Melbourne: Because stress is often unconscious, acknowledging it makes it less powerful. I also do a bit of yoga, get a massage and play squash. I find that exercise is like meditating because you're focusing on something else."

Sue Ostler, 36, singles and relationship author, Sydney: "When I'm totally stressed, I'll take half an hour to be super productive and do whatever it is I need to do to feel in control - then I'll think about what I need to do to de-stress. It might be as simple as a glass of wine and a nice long bath, or if it's heavier I'll book a massage or a spa.
