Soccer Player Managed Back Pain With Massage

Soccer player John Hughs has used massage therapy for years to keep a bulging disc problem under control according to Sport.Scotsman.com.

But not only does Hughes hope going under the knife will prolong his career, he believes it will give him a better quality of life all round, disclosing that he has only coped with the injury thanks to painkillers, anti-inflammatory tablets and deep massage.

He said: "The problem is a bulging disc which hits the nerve which causes the back to go into spasm to protect it. The back caused me all sorts of problems when I was playing with Ayr United and having to drive down there every day, and now I am suffering hamstring problems, something I’ve never had in my entire career, and that can be put down to my back problem.
