Case Studies In Visceral Manipulation
This is my third installment about Visceral Manipulation. I've been trying to practice this technique on as many people as possible following my class. I like to tell my clients about new techniques as I acquire them and give them a sample in their session.
One client was concerned that an abdominal strain left them with the beginnings of a hernia. Upon "listening" I discovered tension in the mesentary, a web-like fat layer in the abdomen that serves to protect the organs. I helped the body release tension in the mesentary and the client called me 10 minutes after the session saying that they could tell a difference in comfort while sitting and maneuvering the pedals on their car.
Another client's spouse sent them with instructions to get me to "try that new technique" on them. The client has been getting up several times in the night to empty their bladder which interrupts quality sleep for them. It turns out the client had colon cancer surgery several years before, and indeed there was a great deal of tension around the bladder. I helped ease the tension around the ligaments of bladder and await a report from the client concerning their nighttime bladder habits.
