Healing Sadness
Here's a nice little piece about why this woman became a massage therapist.
I was standing outside one day, watching some birds flitting high in the trees as a honey-colored light poured down on the world in that golden late-summer way, when suddenly I thought, "This is ending, it’s all ending."
In the long months since 9/11, some of us may have moved through Baffled or Angry, through Mournful or Vengeful, but many of us I think have come to settle in Sad.
"The best thing for being sad is to learn something," Merlyn says.
I wanted to learn how to put my hands on people to help them heal, and thus find myself today rewarded with a wonderful new kind of "sight" that allows me to somehow sense it when people are hurting.
