Interstitial Cystitis
Folks show up at my place with all kinds of conditions I've never heard of. Sometimes, the tools I have offer hope of relief from the side effects. Today I see a client with interstitial cystitis and I hope that visceral manipulation will help her with some of her symptoms.
In an effort to help my clients more effectively, I try to find and refer them to information about their condition. In this persons case, I am seeking a nervous system link between their muscle pain and bladder irritation. Turns out there is not a relationship because of the structures in question (which I choose not to disclose for the sake of privacy).
However, in my research, I have found one of the best informational sites for a condition that I've ever seen. Not only does it have a concise description of the condition, it has relevant anatomy with illustrations, an easily navigable website, a library, access to support groups, a page for children, and even a cookbook! I wish every site where this well organized. Cudos to the developers.
