More Community Colleges Offering Massage Programs
Minnesota Technical College offers massage therapy program enrolling only 20 to 25 students for the program at a time.
My own education was at a school devoted solely to massage therapy. I think the community college scenario is a positive change in the education of therapists. Standard community colleges are set up to have 2-year programs of study which gives students time to integrate the material. It also challenges students to stick with their chosen career like many other courses of study. Community colleges have to meet certain education standards set by the US Department of Education allowing them to offer financial aid and opening up the field to those who may not be able to afford it.
