Some Attention For New Mothers
Palma offers 15-minute massages, leaving the hospital gown on. She said she usually does necks, shoulders, arms and hands. Patients can be sitting up or lying on their sides.
Gore said after birth, most of the attention is on the newborn and the mother can feel left out.
“It’s relaxing, especially because you’ve got all these people checking you, checking the baby and you’ve finally got someone coming in to check on you and make you feel good,” Gonzalez said.
