Seasonal Conditions
Some conditions seem to arrive with the seasons. I'm not talking about the obvious problems such as the soreness that accompanies springtime gardening activities or summer heat illness.
In the fall when the weather begins to vacillate between hot and cold, I have an increase in cases of crick in the neck. That's not to say that I don't see this condition at times all year round, it seems to be more prevalent during the autumn months. I suspect it is brought on by cold.
This past couple of weeks, I've noticed an increase in back pain. The pattern is characterized by pain on one side that extends from the base of the skull down into the low back and glutes and sometimes into the hamstring of the affected side. I'm at a loss to speculate on a possible cause.
In our area, mid-August is the official start to the fall allergy season. Ragweed allergies are prevalent here and, while I've noticed a few allergy sufferers trickle in to my practice, I expect an increase in clients seeking my protocol for sinus relief well into October.
I recommend reading Staying Healthy With The Seasons by Elson Hass to help prevent being buffeted about by seasonal changes.
