A Second Opinion About Massage
Dr. Murray Feingold, physician in chief of the National Birth Defects Center, is taking a second look at massage. He's acknowledges that massage may have health benefits and may, finally, experience one for himself.
Some studies in the medical literature have shown that massage can be helpful in treating various conditions. It can decrease aches and pains, help relax sore muscles, relieve anxiety and stress and lower high blood pressure.
Some massage therapists use only a light touch. This affects mainly the skin and connective tissue. Others use deep massage that affects the muscles.
Massage is now also taking place during the birthing process.
Dr. Feingold, if you are ever in north Alabama, I'd be happy to give you a therapeutic massage. Please call first and set up an appointment.
