Chinese Medicine Cures Paralysis Victim

The case concerning Terri Schiavo went to a special session of Congress today.

The attempted compromise would mark the latest wrinkle in the long-running legal battle over the fate of Schiavo, who doctors say is in a persistent vegetative state with no hope of recovery.

Perhaps Schiavo's parents could have new hope for her recovery after reading about Dublin man, Jason Clarke, who underwent intensive Chinese medical care in Beijing. His recovery is considered miraculous.

Mr Clarke, then 31, suffered three strokes and was "a vegetable, to all intents and purposes", says his family.

Thanks to the attentions of a personal carer, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a clinic with more than 1,000 highly qualified staff to tend to fewer than 350 patients, Mr Clarke can now walk with a stick and feed and wash himself.

The medical costs for his family were just £7,000.
