Golf Advice From Massage Chair Ads
I found two articles on golf-related back pain. While they're both advertisements for a massage chair, the tips they offer for keeping limber and avoiding injury may be useful to golfers.
A common problem among both avid and occasional golfers is back pain. The golf swing places a lot of strain on the torso and spine as your shoulders rotate back and forth through the ball. The most helpful tip I can give you is to get out of those bumpy golf carts and start walking the course. Take practice swings evenly throughout your round to keep you back loose and warm. Swing easy, hit far.
Reducing back problems may be the most important concern for golfers looking to for long term enjoyment from golf. Tight back muscles are the leading cause of golf related back problems. The twisting and turning action that is required to play golf, takes its toll on the spine and back muscles. Golfers should warm up slowly and stretch with caution.
While gadgets are a good stop-gap measure between sessions, nothing can beat the educated hands of a good therapist. Best of luck and happy golfing.
