Massage Therapist Redefines Volunteerism
Alabama massage therapists, Robin Schafer, brings volunteerism to new heights. Not only did she bring potable water to hurricane Katrina to victims in Mississippi, she made a second trip down to help evacuate a clients' mother who had fallen after the storm.
She has been working with burn survivors for the past 7 years. Schafer has studied emergency preparedness, fire safety, emergency medical operations, light search and rescue operations, disaster psychology, terrorism and simulation drills and is a Health Care Hero Volunteer finalist.
