Alternatives Going Mainstream

As more people turn to alternative therapies for chronic pain, alternative treatments may come into the mainstream.

As a self-employed contractor, Ron Wirf cannot work without a strong back. So for the last couple of months he has received deep massage treatment.

He said, "They call it alternative medicine, but I don't know why they do that. Medicine is medicine as far as I'm concerned and the determining factor for me is what works and what doesn't."

What works for Wirf is massage treatments and stretching. And if more people see results like he has, it could be a matter of time before the big insurance companies come around.
