Don't "Overdo It" With Alternatives To Cancer Treatment
Reports that Coretta Scott King died at a Tijuana medical clinic have focused attention on unconventional cancer treatments.
While many alternative and complementary therapies can help patients cope with cancer, it is important to realize that some can counteract the effectiveness of standard cancer treatments.
Adolf said a number of therapies may help. Acupuncture and massage can ease pain and help patients relax, while vitamins and herbs can relieve nausea and boost energy.
But no matter which therapy patients try, Adolf said talking with your doctor is key, because some complementary therapies don't complement cancer treatments at all.
