Massage School Stories
The Kinston Free-Press profiles the Lenoir Community College’s therapeutic massage program, and talks to one of the instructors and a student enrolled in the massage school about the program, the benefits of massage, and the physical work massage therapists do every day.
“You need to be physically able to do this job,” said Cox, who requires students to undergo a mini-boot camp of physical conditioning at the start of the course. “You’re standing on your feet giving a one-hour massage, sometimes five hours a day. It’s like digging a ditch. They sweat.”
