Clients Outside The Practice
Sometimes we develop special relationships with our clients. For instance, an elder client of mine wrote a memoir of his life and was having a book signing yesterday. Since I see both he and his wife I decided to make the drive to the next county for the signing.
My mother-in-law lives in the next county, as well, so my husband and I drove down, had lunch and made an afternoon of it. It was nice to surprise my client this way and I was treated to a couple of numbers from his barber shop quartet.
As we were leaving, so were some of his friends and I joked, "Whenever, I go to get my business cards (my client also owns a print shop) I get serenaded. Now I've come to buy a book and I'm being sung to again!" His friend replied, "Sounds like you need to take your business elsewhere!"
