Moving Your Practice
The Taunton, Massachussetts Taunton Gazette profiles local therapeutic massage therapist Lori Noel, who moved her practice from the local YMCA to her own office.
During the two years before opening her own business, Noel plied her trade - and developed a clientele - just up the block at the Taunton YMCA.
But she said the room there was on the small side, not to mention a little noisy, with basketballs bouncing up and down the court.
Noel is quick to add, however, that she gained valuable experience working with YMCA director Mike Fox.
"We set up the program from scratch," she said. "Gift-certificate programs, marketing - pretty much everything."
It only made sense, she said, to stay close to the Y so her clients could easily find her office.
Noel makes a good point about moving your business to a new location, don't forget your clients when you move. Return customers are the best customers you have (and often the easiest to take fro granted).
