Massaging Triathletes
New Zealand's Daily Post profiles a local 76 year-old massage therapist who volunteers to massage athletes competing at a local triathlon.
Massage director Roger Gooch said the organisers were grateful for volunteers like Mrs Koenig. He said the number of therapists volunteering their time had dropped, with about half the usual number turning up.
Mr Gooch reckons it's a tough and exhausting job - the therapists are on their feet for hours on end, working well into the night to make sure the athletes that come in at the later end of the event are equally as well catered for as the top ones.
