Layperson Discusses Massage
It's nice to hear a client's perception of a massage. Guest columnist for the Binghamton Moms, Lee Welles discusses her work routine and describes how massage can benefit her physical challenges.
Consider that the most common form of headache is the tension headache. Tension headaches can be brought on by poor posture, poor sleep or coping with stressful situations. Traveling, I have discovered, can entail all three. Because muscles in the head, neck and shoulders tend to tighten up when stressed, causing the dreaded tension headache, massage can be a remedy and a preventive measure.
She also discusses massages advantage over a doctor's office.
And then there is the pamper factor. Let’s face it. Having someone do nothing but pay attention to your needs for an hour feels pretty good. A great massage therapist will chat if you want to chat, or leave you in blissful silence. I often wonder if, as a society, we have developed the habit of running off to the doctor for every ache and pain because the doctor is someone who will focus on our needs. Although, since the average visit is now a measly 15 minutes, I think the allure is wearing thin.
Knead on my friends, knead on.
