Shoes That Help Save Mother Earth

This past week we traveled to the SXSW music festival for my husband's work. While I was there listening to a band, I was standing next to a young woman and noticed that she had really neat shoes (see the one in the middle). They looked like printed canvas and therefore appealed to my artist side.

Now, I know this is a massage and health blog, but we should also consider consumer choices that impact the health of the earth (another topic kinda close to my heart). Turns out these neato shoes are earth friendly made by a company called SIMPLE: a nice little shoe company using all recycled and renewable products. Alas, at $85.00 a pair, I cannot afford them on my student budget. But if you are willing to spend your dollar on earth-friendly clothing and you CAN afford them, check out this little company that makes products out of recycled car tires and plastic bottles, hemp, bamboo and recycled paper.
