I'm a music-loving guy living deep in the American South. My day job title is web developer, but my true loves are music and literature.
What
Largehearted Boy is all about sharing the love I have for music, literature, and popular culture. A true labor of love, the site now features every day daily downloads of free and legal music as well as shorties (daily music, literature, geeky and popular culture news). Other features include the 52 Books, 52 Weeks project, which chronicles my yearly recreational reading; Book Notes which has authors create a mixtape relating to their latest book; Note Books where musicians I admire explore their literary side, Soundtracked
where directors and composers discuss their film's soundtrack; and "The Largehearted Boy Cross-Cultural Media Exchange Program," where authors interview musicians (and vice-versa).
Where
Though I've wandered all over the country, I seem to have found a home in Birmingham, Alabama with my lovely wife.

When
I bought the domain, largeheartedboy.com, in late 2001, and launched the blog in January of 2002.
Why
I originally bought the domain and hosting space to house an online presence for my Guided By Voices radio stream, GBV Radio. The weblog, which started as a fling has evolved into a vocation.
I love music, and I love books. Combining the two at Largehearted Boy makes me very happy.
