Former Husker Du and Sugar frontman Bob Mould and producer Richard Morel spin discs at DC's Velvet Lounge:
"The DJ night serves a number of functions," Mould explains. "The most important thing is that it's a place for us and our friends to get together and listen to good music once a month. I think it fills a void in the community as far as homos who like really good music. That's a rare breed, dare I say. And on a business level, it's a way to propagate the name Blowoff to prime people to the notion that there will be a record of original music sometime next year."
