Tomorrow's Shopping Bag
The cash registers will be singing with new release sales this week. The Beatles box setand greatest hits collections from both Pearl Jam and Neil Young will be the perfect holiday gift for many music lovers. This week, armed with birthday gift cards and gift certificates, I'll be picking up The Dears' Protest ep, Oneida's Nice Splittin Peaches ep, MF Doom's MM... Food and Rufus Wainwright's Want Two. If I can find Cinerama's Up & Go, I'll add it to my bag as well.
The Kids in the Hall second season is out on dvd this week, and that's a must-purchase for me. The first season of Andy Griffith will make a perfect gift for my wife. For the musicians: D.I.Y. Or Die: How to Survive as an Independent Artist offers interviews with Ian MacKaye, J Mascis and others.
