2004, Year of the Free Electronics
This year was the year of free electronics. Companies like Gratis Internet, Offercentric and Prizecube offered free electronic toys in return for signing up for (often) free offers, and getting others to sign up. The companies have awarded many free items to participants in their promotions, and in the case of Offercentric, cash awards as well.
These offers garnered me a free iPod, a free flatscreen (a 27" Sony WEGA), a free Playstation 2, and a free Photo iPod for my wife. I am waiting for my free handbag to be approved (I'm not the Louis Vuitton type, though). Gratis Internet been very, very good to me this year.
Hopefully the free offers will continue to roll in. As 2005 starts I am still hoping to finish the only Gratis offer I lack, the free desktop PC (which would make an excellent largehearted Linux media server). I am close on several of the Offercentric promotions, notably the free Nintendo DS, the free MP3 player, the free digital camera and the free digital video recorder. The Prizecube offers of free game consoles, free digital camera and free personal video player, and free video games have been a bit more elusive, but I'm hopeful these will come through as our nieces' and nephews' birthdays approach.
