A couple of weeks ago a friend informed me that a friend of a friend, Mike Uva, was playing in Atanta and Athens soon (last weekend, actually). One of the nights conflicted with the final Drive-By Truckers/Centro-matic benefit for Nuci's Space, and I was traveling on the other day, so I lightly tossed aside my chance to see this singer-songwriter. I mentally added him to my list of artists to explore, and surprisingly he shows up on No Love For Ned's radio stream this week as an in-studio guest. Fate? Maybe not, but his performance inspired me to purchase his Where Have You Been album, where his lyrical imagery combines with truly inspired arrangements. Once again, thanks Ned, for opening up my musical world.
