Tomorrow's Shopping Bag
The plethora of fine music releases this week means the end of any balances I'm carrying on holiday gift certificates. Bright Eyes' Digital Ash in a Digital Urn and I'm Wide Awake It's Morning are must-haves for me. I've heard great things about Bettie Serveert's Attagirl, so that is on my list, as is the Chris Stamey Experience's A Question of Temperature. When Cris Stamey is backed by Yo La Tengo and the project is produced by Mitch Easter, I will be first in line for the record. The Drive-By Truckers' remastered Gangstabilly and Pizza Deliverance are worthy purchases from my favorite live band, and releases by The Moaners, Jennifer Gentle, and Bonnie Prince Billy & Matt Sweeney are also on my must-purchase list. The Super Furry Animals singles compilation and Shonen Knife remasters are enticing, but I may be looking for them (and the rest of this list) in future weeks in the bargain bins.
In new DVD's, the fourth season of Coupling looks like my only immediate purchase. The live Old 97's DVD will get a longing look, but that purchase may wait.
Anything I'm missing? Something I should definitely pick up this week and not put off?
