Shorties

Popstar Feets is a "beautiful blog featuring pictures that I've taken each week of the shoes of all your favourite indie pop stars." This is definitely the most original music blog I have seen in a long time, and my vote for new blog of 2005 (plus, I get great ideas for when I go shoe shopping).

If you're driving through Memphis, WEVL is a volunteer radio station worth a listen. The program schedule is wonderfully eclectic, I'm hoping for an internet stream soon. One of their hosts, Hayden Jackson, has started a weblog, The Music Lovers.

NPR streams a Bright Eyes, Tilly and the wall, and CocoRosie show.

Coining a new term, Abir has started a "clog" (a concert blog), featuring photos and occasionally video from shows he attends. As an added bonus, he posted videos of Ben Gibbard and Mark Kozelek from the recent San Francisco tsunami relief benefit.

No Love For Ned's weekly radio stream is up, and surprises with some sixties obscurities.

PodGourmet Vegan Edition is a vegan cookbook for your iPod.

Poster artist Jay Ryan is profiled by the Chicago Tribune.

I've mentioned Now Playing (an iTunes plugin for PC) before, but have only started using it (see my right sidebar) since utilizing my VAIO as an oversized, under-capacity iPod while my wife borrows my iPod during the day. I use the Flash frontend, it's a pretty great gizmo, I wish there was something similar for my iBook.

Japan Today reviews Haruki Murakami's novel, Kafka on the Shore.

The North Carolina State Technician reviews the recent Bright Eyes releases, comparing Conor Oberst to Eminem.
