Drop Dead Cute is a collection of the works of ten cutting edge artists. Subtitled, "The New Generation of Female Artists in Japan," the book features art that has influences not only in anime and manga, but also in traditional Japanese forms. The artists are introduced in concise yet informative introductions, then the work is left to speak for itself. The book introduced me to new artists and styles, and is beautifully produced.
Next on my reading list is the new novel by Chuck Palahniuk, Haunted.
