Tomorrow's Shopping Bag (This Week's Interesting CD & DVD Releases)
With the release date for Sufjan Stevens' Illinois album pushed back (allegedly until August 2nd) due to cover art copyright issues (O, Superman...), I will probably be skipping CD shopping this week unless there is an outrageous deal on the new Missy Elliott disc (yes, I am a slave to Miss Missy). The good news to the Sufjan Stevens fiasco is that the disc I picked up through Asthmatic Kitty may now be a collectors item, but somehow I doubt it. I know that mid-summer is slow, but there have to be more worthy releases out this week, help me out.
Deadheads should rejoice with Grateful Dead Truckin Up To Buffalo and the Grateful Dead tribute End of the Road being released on DVD this week. Not being much of a Dead fan, I'll pass on these as well as actor Russell Crowe's music DVD, 30 Odd Foot Grunts - Texas. I will be picking up Christina Ricci's Prozac Nation and the two Werner Herzog films released to DVD this week: Land of Silence and Darkness and Signs of Life.
