Tomorrow's Shopping Bag (This Week's Interesting CD & DVD Releases)

If you don't have The Arcade Fire's self-titled EP, the reissue is a worthy pickup, as is my favorite EP from last year, the Decemberists' The Tain. Speaking of EP's, the Wolf Parade release was a preorder for me this week, as were The Knitters' Modern Sounds of the Knitters, Son Volt's Okemah and the Melody of Riot, and Xiu Xiu's La Foret. I'll be dropping by the record store for Statistics' Often Lie and whatever else is deeply discounted. Anyone have any other recommendations?

This week's DVD releases bring a Lou Ferrigno bonanza, as the strongman does a double feature as Hercules and even shows up as Sinbad (the hero, not the comedian). At the top of my personal list is the third season of Sealab 2021. After that, I'll pick up the MC5 documentary and perhaps the BBC version of Chronicles of Narnia for my nieces and nephews. Any opinions on this BBC production? Otherwise, I'll be checking the shelves for loss leaders. What looks good to you?
