28 Down, 24 To Go (52 Books, 52 Weeks)
I finished Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down while on vacation last week, but was a bit disappointed. The premise is strong: four disparate would-be suicide jumpers form a group that bonds in the face of their problems, but its execution is at times predictable and the characters one-dimensional. I must be in the minority, I much prefer Hornby's non-fiction to his fiction...
My next book is Teachers Have It Easy: The Big Sacrifices and the Small Salaries of America's Teachers, by Dave Eggers, Daniel Moulthrop, and Ninive Clements Calegari.
