Beth Lisick admits that she has always been too cool to fit in with the squares, and too square to fit in with the cool people. Luckily, her outsider status fills her stories in Everybody Into the Pool with rare insight and a big dose of self-deprecating humor that had me laughing on almost every page. Lisick is well-known in the San Francisco area as a spoken word performer, and these stories show why. I'll be reading her other two books when I get the chance...
My next book is Alex Robinson's graphic novel, Tricked.
