12 Down, 40 To Go (52 Books, 52 Weeks)

Put The Book Back On The Shelf: A Belle And Sebastian Anthology is an anthology of comics based on Belle & Sebastian songs. As a newly-minted fan of comics, I found the book at times enjoyable, but uneven in its storytelling. As a Belle & Sebastian fan, I was disappointed that most of the stories only fleetingly reflected upon their lyrical inspirations. Surprisingly, David Lasky's interpretation of "Piazza, New York Catcher" (one of my least favorite B&S tunes) was my favorite comic in the book, tying in the song's lyrics with his artwork seamlessly and elegantly.

My next book is Jamie Russell's Book of the Dead: The Complete History of Zombie Cinema.
