When I was growing up, I loved horror films, especially the ones on late-night television. Zombie movies particularly scared me. With their occult trappings, they seemed a much more probable midnight adversary than Frankenstein or Dracula. Jamie Russell's Book of the Dead: The Complete History of Zombie Cinema lives up to its title (and more). The book not only gives the history of zombies on film, but also explains the zombie myth and how it made its way to America. The movie stills and posters, often reproduced in full color, make this book a must-read for any fan of zombie films.
My next book is the graphic novel Kid Eternity by Grant Morrison and Duncan Fegredo.
