In Grant Morrison's Kid Eternity, the title character enlists a stand-up comedian on a quest to free the Kid's mentor from hell, where Kid has recently escaped. Duncan Fegredo's dark, painted artwork befits the tone of the book, which is interspersed with dark humor. In the end, I found the book an enjoyable read, if a bit predictable.
My next book is David Wellington's zombie novel. Monster Island.
